The Canvas Whispered Back: A Story of Paint, Community, and a Surprising Sale

Hello my beautiful, creative friend,

Have you ever stood before a blank canvas, feeling a little whisper in your heart? A whisper that speaks of a dream not yet lived, a feeling not yet fully formed?

Back in March, during my last Dream BIG Paint BIG course I picked up my brush with one of those whispers in mind. It was a longing for two things: true financial freedom and a deep, soul-nourishing community. I didn’t paint a house or a dollar sign. Instead, I closed my eyes, felt that energy in my bones, and let it flow onto the canvas in a burst of intuitive colour and wild, abstract shapes. It was a prayer made of paint, a dream I could see and feel.

I hung the painting in my studio and simply trusted that the energy was now in motion, even though I had no idea what it might look like.

The Universe, as it turns, was listening.

Just three months later, in June, the most unexpected invitation arrived. A role in a wonderful community organisation in Oamaru (creative Steampunk capital of New Zealand). It was a chance to connect, serve, and weave myself into the fabric of this quirky town in new ways. It felt like the universe had delivered the ‘community’ part of my painting in a beautiful, tangible package.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Almost in the same breath, our house - our lovely, familiar rural home, went on the market. A decision that felt divinely timed, opening a door to that very ‘financial freedom’ I had visualised. It’s as if the energy I poured out came rushing back to meet me, saying, “The Universe heard you. Now, are you ready for the adventure?”

There is so much more to this story, a tapestry of synchronicities and heart-flutters that I can’t wait to share with you. But for now, I want you to hold onto this one, potent truth:

The energy you pour into your creativity is not passive. It is a active, co-creative force in designing your life.

This is at the heart of everything I teach. It’s the magic I keep discovering for myself, and it’s the journey I am so passionate about guiding you on.

This incredible shift in my life didn’t happen by chance. It was the direct result of the work I did in my own life, work that I have poured into Dream BIG Paint BIG -  crystallised into that very special course.
